Finding the sacred in the everyday moments

It’s a Good Day for Pottery grew from my own search for personal peace. As a pastor, and then a hospital chaplain, I spent years walking alongside others, celebrating their joys in life, and helping them to find hope and peace in the challenging times.

Pottery gave me an outlet for my own emotions and healing - a way to slow down, regain my rhythm, and reconnect with myself, my faith, and life.

In that process, I discovered the simple pleasures of using my pottery in my own everyday rituals - a cup of coffee, family meals, fresh flowers in a vase, beach treasure in a handmade holding dish…

Today, I create functional pottery inspired by my happy place - life on the Delaware coast. The soft neutral colors of the sand and sea, organic textures, and forms that reflect peace and healing, all incorporated into the functional pieces meant to be held, used, and lived with, inviting moments of pause, gratitude and connection.

Whether it is your morning coffee, a shared meal, or a small bowl holding the keepsakes that bring you joy, I hope each piece becomes part of your story as it allows you to pause and reflect, finding the sacred in the everyday.
